Alfred, in Die Fledermaus
(The absolute triumph, however, was George V. Humphrey, as the bombastic and besotted Tenor).
Don José, in Carmen
Alfredo, in La Traviata
Tenor, George Vincent Humphrey’s flamboyant portrayal of the self-obsessed Italian tenor Alfredo, tossing off phrases from “Traviata,” provided enough comic energy to get us through the first act.
George Humphrey...
…proved that he is an excellent singer … (and one) whose Tenor voice incited his audience to wild enthusiasm. The precise technical execution of the music and the fabulous tonal quality of his voice, garnered Mr. Humphrey a standing ovation, which he so rightly deserved.
